Springsteen stops at the Spectum in Philly one last time
Bruce Springsteen is about a third of the way through his Spring/Summer Tour, which includes a two-night stop at the Philadelphia Spectrum, which will mark one of the last performances in the venue, as it’s set for demolition later this year.
It’s particularly important for Springsteen because the Spectrum is the first areana Springsteen and his E Street Band ever played - and he has been there 31 times since. His first performance was a two-night stint in 1976, and 33 years later he is taking the stage one last time.
Bruce told the crowd at during the show: “They don’t make arenas like this anymore. They end up being ideal for rock shows, without the luxury boxes….It’s a real treat to be here again before they knock it down.”
